Omani museum officials have visited Tanzania



A delegation of six people who are senior officials from the National Museum of Oman has visited the Dar es Salam National Museum to learn and experience the history of Tanzania.

The delegation is led by the Chief Executive of the National Museum of Oman, Mr. Jamal al-Moosawi.

Among other things, the delegation also expects to visit the Kijitonyama Museum Village, the Atiman House and the old Boma Building located in Sokoine Street where the buildings were built and occupied by the Sultan of Zanzibar in the 1860's.

The delegation from the National Museum of Oman expects to visit the islands of Zanzibar where they will meet and talk with the executive leadership of the Department of Museums and Antiquities under the Ministry of Tourism and Heritage Zanzibar.

While in Zanzibar, the delegation will visit the Old Town, the Peace and History Museum of One Nazi, the Kibweni House and the Mtoni Ruins. The delegation will also visit Jambiani's Kuumbi Cave, Unguja Kuu Museum and Mkongwe Town to learn and experience the rich history of Zanzibar.

The delegation from Oman arrived in the country on October 5, 2023, where, among other things, he participated in the First Joint Meeting of Experts between Tanzania and Oman, which is being held in Dar es Salaam.

The meeting aims to develop the relationship between Tanzania and Oman through the National Museum of Tanzania and the National Museum of Oman.

The First Joint Meeting of Experts between the National Museum of Tanzania and the National Museum of Oman is one of the methods and tools to strengthen the relationship between Tanzania and Oman.

The meeting is the implementation of the agreement signed between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism and the National Museum of Oman in June 2022.

The delegation is expected to leave the country on October 12, 2023 through the Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar.
