The reproductive health and Malaria research report reached President Samia


The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan has instructed the Ministry of Health and the Office of the President - Regional Administrations and Local Governments (TAMISEMI) to ensure that all hospitals in the country have special wards for infants to coordinate their health and treat diseases that will be identified.

President Samia issued the order today during the launch of the results of research on maternal and child health and malaria indicators (2022) and the distribution of ambulances and medical equipment at the Julius Nyerere International Conference hall.

In addition, President Samia has asked them to ensure that the wards have skilled staff, medical equipment and medicines necessary for the infants.

President Samia has also asked the Ministry of Health, TAMISEMI and the Ministry of Social Development to cooperate in carrying the agenda to combat stunting in children under 5 years of age and to set an implementation plan as well as to expand the scope of education and awareness of nutrition issues to further reduce the level of stagnation in the country which has decreased from 34% in 2015/16 to 30% in 2022.

On the other hand, President Samia has said that the positive results identified by this research show the results of the large investment that is being made by the government in the health sector.

President Samia has distributed 123 sets of care equipment for infants and underweight children, 125 radiation machines, 140 machines to treat early symptoms of cervical cancer which will be distributed to Council hospitals and various health centers nationwide.

Along with medical equipment, President Samia has allocated vehicles to transport patients that will carry out the tasks of carrying out patient referrals from clinics to health centers, and district, regional and referral hospitals in various regions.
