Hundreds flocked to Uhuru for the Holy Eucharist Conference

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko has encouraged Tanzanians to live with mutual tolerance, respect and love as prescribed by God's books.

Dr. Biteko said this today September 15, 2024 at the Fifth National Holy Eucharist Conference held at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

"All of us who came here have heard good sermons, we have been preached to be more united and bear each other more and respect each other as one Tanzanian. Having different ideas should not make us divided, this Holy Eucharist should make us one," said Dr. Biteko.

He emphasized "Let's teach the society we have to have compassion for all the people in need and more importantly to have compassion for our Tanzanian nation."

Speaking about the theme of the Conference which says "Brotherhood to Heal the World, You are all Brothers", Dr. Biteko has said that the slogan is important and unites people together.

Dr. Biteko added "When we leave here, let us teach people, let us be new. The Holy Eucharist has instructed us to live anew."

In addition, Dr. Biteko has encouraged Tanzanians to participate in the Local Government General Election to be held on November 27, 2024 by choosing leaders based on their qualities who will help bring development to the country.

Preaching in the holy mass during the Conference, the President of the Council of Catholic Bishops of Tanzania (TEC), Bishop Wolfgang Pisa, said that the day is to conclude the Jubilee of 50 years of the Small Community in all the states in the country.

Bishop Pisa has said that for many years in the country Small Communities have been used as a tool to reach all believers and that the Holy Eucharist is the only connection between Christians.

" This is a sacrament of love so we should not discriminate against each other by ideology, race or other reasons because we all have one God. My brothers, let's go to this sacrament in a state without sin, let's ask God that this sacrament will change us to be new." Bishop Pisa has emphasized.

In addition, Bishop Pisa has thanked the believers of the church from various states in the country for participating in the Holy Eucharist Conference and said that after concluding the fifth Conference which was held for four days, it will meet again in the next four years in the Archdiocese of Arusha.

Giving the greetings of the Holy Father, the Ambassador of the Vatican in Tanzania, Archbishop Angelo Accattino said that the Conference has explained the importance of the Holy Eucharist as the core of their faith.

"The Eucharist unites us with Christ and our brothers in faith. The Eucharist strengthens our love for God. I congratulate the Government for holding such events in freedom and peace" said Bishop Accattino.

The conference has touched the hearts of thousands of members of the Catholic Church from various traditions across the country and has been attended by hundreds of religious leaders including bishops, priests and nuns.

Which was also attended by the Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office, Policy, Parliament and Coordination, Hon. William Lukuvi, Minister of Construction, Hon. Innocent Bashungwa and the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Hon. Albert Chalamila.
